HK VP9 Wear Update

Someone wanted to see a video of the VP9 Wear instead of photos. So…here you go. I haven’t checked my record, but I “think” we are on 3 years of carry and use? Or damn near? But I could be wildly off on that estimate.

We all know that the request was from one of the women who follow this channel and she was really just hoping to see you draw from cover! Ha! I am amazed at just how little wear my P30sk shows, but I am wearing a soft sided holster and not kydex everyday like you are. I do not lose track of the fact that my carry guns are tools, nice tools, but still just tools. I have been thinking about trying some of the “Agrip” tape for some of my hand grips, it is the tape that feels a bit like roughed side leather. Have you ever tried this product?

    • I have never seen a “tape” that stays in place under extreme use. If they stay on during moisture, they tend to drift under extended heat.

      YMMV.

I just bought a VP9. What would be a good choice for IWB holster?
    John,

    • Hey, John. Sorry for the delay. I am OCONUS right now. IWB? You mean 3 O’clock-ish? There are many. Too many to recommend just one. You can never really go wrong with a Raven Concealment, but they are pricy.

3-4-5 o’clock holsters aren’t really that hard. Kydex is Kydex. It’s when you get into AIWB things get more specific.

If you see a specific holster and want me to look at it, send it over. I’ll give you my feedback.

Yes, 3 -4 o’clock, right hand. I’ll check out the Raven.
        Thanks,

John, I a prefer Com-Tac Holsters, They have a leather/Kydex Hybrid that I’m like and use daily.

          • John W

            I’ll check them out. Thanks.

        • John, be aware that hybrid holsters used under extreme heat for long periods can swell the leather. This in some cases causing the holster to “lock” the pistol.

          Each situation is different however.

I’m I need Texas, so it does get hot. I’ll keep that in mind.

          • The body sweat soaks into the leather and does it.
