LAW-12 Buffer Maintenance

Not sure if we’ve ever shown this shotgun. It’s a Franchi LAW-12. Also known as the little brother to the SPAS-12 shotgun from the Jurassic Park movies.  In short, remove most of the stupid stuff off the 12, and you get a smaller, lighter, better, simpler semi-automatic shotgun known as the LAW-12.  But just like the SPAS, the LAW uses …

Stoeger Tactical SxS

I saw this in my local gun shop a while back. And on paper I should be hating everything about it. But I have to confess, there was something endearing about this Stoeger SxS.  It was light. Handy. Synthetic furniture. Simple. Easily accepts a red-dot. Already has a flashlight mounted. And even the stock sleeve allows for more ammo to …

Remington and Colt both have huge layoffs. Why yes, that is a SA-7 missile launcher behind …

Replacing Buffer on SPAS-12 Shotgun

Here is a time-lapse video showing how to install a replacement buffer in a Franchi SPAS-12 shotgun. It took me 12 minutes and this was my first time EVER detail stripping or putting one together. I made few mistakes, but those are noted in the video so you don’t. Special thanks to the SPAS-12 Project for the support on getting …

SPAS-12 Broken Buffer Confirmed

As we reported earlier, the SPAS-12 shotgun starting falling apart as soon as we racked it. As suspect, the original rubber buffer system has dried out and disintegrated with age. As you will notice with the hard, translucent yellow pieces seen here. A replacement part will be ordered ASAP.   Marky www.john1911.com “Shooting Guns & Having Fun”
