A.W. Spies was a retailer from 1820 thru 1851. His name appears on firearms, swords, and even buttons.
This .36 caliber single shot pistol carries his name on the lock plate. The names Rodgers and Remington are marked on the barrel.
Not a lot of information is available on this firearm. But from the fancy engraving, and German silver plates, it shows this was a higher end pistol.
