A few months ago I posted an image of a friend of mine getting some time in on steel. His first shot was a dud since the primer was loaded in backwards. Something that can happen on progressive presses. Yes, it was reloads. But I HAVE SEEN this happen with factory ammo as well.
If you shoot long enough, you will see everything.
Well, it just so happens that I happen to have caught the dead-primer incident on tape!
CLICK!
Check those reload especially. Because while I have seen factory ammo do it, the ratio of reloads to factory from my personal observation, which is by no means scientific, is probably 20 to 1. Or put another way, I’ve only seen this on factory ammunition twice. Over my entire shooting career.
