We picked up a new, unissued Beretta APX pistol that AIM Surplus imported from a Brazilian police department. Or maybe it was from the Brazilian national police? Honestly don’t recall. But for identity sake, this is one of those Beretta pistols.
First up, take the gun down and inspect for condition. And right off the bat, we had a problem. Couldn’t get the thing apart!
I suppose this is due to the gun being literally factory new and perhaps with some shooting and break-ins, it will come apart more easily. But right now, it’s a pain in the thumb.
The trick: After dropping the striker (like all modern guns), we needed to push the takedown pin on the edge of a bench to get the lever to turn.
Once done, easy peasy. Maybe this is a sample size of one? Or perhaps all of them are like this? Dunno. Don’t care. We have documented it so we can know how to take it apart in the future.
Sincerely,
Marky
