Ok. Confession time. Where I come from, we call this snake shot. Also, I haven’t seen brass-crimped centerfire pistol pellets for sale in many, many years. It reminds of the of British Ishapore 410 shotguns.
We ran out and bought this after having to deal with a problem snake around the building. It had been relocated a few times before, but it finally wigged enough folks out, I needed to address it.
But what to do it with? The decision was made to pull out the Mossberg 590, switch it to bird shot, and use that.
It took about 3 hours to catch the snake slippin. Afterwards I thought, “Hmmm…some small caliber snake-shot would have been more handy for this”. Called up Shooter’s Supply and asked if they had any snake shot in any caliber. All that was in stock was some old Federal 22 stuff. Full brass case, crimped.
I am willing to bet most younger folks haven’t seen snake shot like this before since typically modern loadings are encased with a polymer shot-body.
Sincerely,
Marky
