Follow up to Kraken and I shooting the Ithaca 37. As per it’s reputation, the stock shot loose fairly quickly. Since we don’t know the history of this shotgun, maybe this is the first time it’s been tightened in 40 years? Or maybe it was tightened by the FFL before putting it up for sale.
Either is fine.
But while working on the gun, a question in the back of my mind was answered? Was this a civilian gun or a police gun? It’s in riot configuration and seems like it’s “work worn”, not “deer camp” worn.
Well after popping off the butt-plate, we discovered what can only be described as a rack number. That points to this gun probably being in PD inventory instead of deer camp.
That is unless Ithaca was known to number their stocks under the butt-pad? Time will tell…
Sincerely,
Marky
