Our friend Andy sent over some photos a custom 1911 from a different time. Notice the checkering all over the gun: done by hand. Notice how closely fitted certain parts are: done by hand.
But what intrigues me the most about these images in the S&W style revolver sight. There was a time when someone walking around with THAT sight on a 1911 was considered a real “Pistolero”.
Would I choose to have a gun built with a sight like that today? No. But if I was handed such a format of gun before heading out into some kind of OK-Corral-esque nightmare, I would do just fine.
Thanks for the cool pics, Andy.
Sincerely,
Marky
