Loaded Rifle Rack - Project. Secureit Gun Storage.

This has been on the back burner for a bit and still is. But I ran across the hardware this week working in The Armory and figured it was worth mentioning. I am going to designate a “loaded rifle” section in the one of the physical vaults.

Top and bottom hardward. Also see the STANAG mag holder to left.

In the past, the policy has always been that items stored in that facility were to be unloaded, cleaned, logged and then racked. Obviously while being treated and respected as loaded firearms with all appropriate precautions.

It’s a top and bottom cradle that can be adjusted infinitely for length or SBR.

But…if we are short staffed, if nobody with truck guns is on hand, or simply there is a need for an “upgrade” or category change quickly? I want a small selection of long arms ready to go. With ammo and extra mags loaded. Stored with said guns. So that even in an emergency, a non-gun person could draw a desired weapon and ammo with minimal chance for confusion or mistake.

  • 1 tac rifle, RDS & WML with loaded mags (AR or MSR equivalent).
  • 1 precision rifle with loaded mags and zeroed glass.
  • 1 shotgun in “cruiser ready” status.

The hardware shown here is what that is for. These are individual rifle holders not designed for high density storage. But instead are formatted so a user can simply pull the weapon away from the wall. Or yank off the wall, if under duress.

The bottom carriers are also adjustable for all kinds of sporting and military stocks.

Being individual rifles, I can tuck this solution by the door, back wall, or where ever I see fit. And while the roller system that allows for pull away isn’t compatible with ALL modern barrels, and has the potential to rub or mar the finishes; this solution is strictly for “working guns”, not reference collection guns. So no problems there.

Our other holders use a bunge cord system up top. Very secure. Would hold rifles in an earthquake. These roller systems allow the long gun to be pulled away. Even with one. And even if the barrel end is out of reach. The bunge system doesn’t allow that.

TLDR: This is where truck guns go when not in trucks, or being rotated.

Sincerely,

Marky
