Managing Tractor Attachments

Ironcraft Grapple. Tractor attachments.
Ironcraft Grapple on dolly’s.

Wanted to run this by the folks. With the new barn, I want to bring the attachments inside. At the very least the hydraulically driven ones.

I am told by local farmers that the sun beating down on hoses 365 days a year just kills equipment. And…I want my stuff inside anyway.

So…let’s start with this grapple. It’s heavy. Once it’s dropped off the tractor, it would be nice to be able to move it aside until needed.

Found some unused dolly’s and figured I would give it a shot. Frankly, I wasn’t even sure they would hold the weight. But so far seems ok. As for the system being mobile? Ehhh….it’s kinda. The wheels are catty wompus so every time I push forward, it crabs at an angle. I’m sure with a pry bar and little muscle, I can make this work. But before I do…

It moves, but kinda crabs at an angle.

Is there a system or solution those more experienced than me might know about or suggest? I considered forklift shelving, but I want to hold off on that right now. So ground level is my focus.

Thanks in advance.

Sincerely,

Marky
