This is the 4th and final shooting bench I am adding this year. Number 4 will replace my original bench and be under the rifle range shelter. Aka The Shelter. Aka The Picnic Shelter.
Why? Didn’t I just add benches?
Well…the last few groups of shooters that have come through here lately have ALL congregated under the shelter to shoot. Which is weird and unexpected because I HATE shooting under there. Why? Because it’s loud. And when I say loud, I mean…loud! It sucks ass being under there for anything bigger than 5.56.
And some of those 5.55 guns push their luck with their fancy brakes. But I digress…
So I go out and buy three brand new, TREX(tm) topped shooting benches for the 50-500 range, the 600 range (on a cement pad mind you!), and a small 22 / pistol bench up by the barn.
And everyone who has shown up to shoot this fall have all wanted to shoot under the shelter! One dude with an unsuppressed 300wm and Kraken with a bloody 50BMG (unsuppressed). All to stay out of the sun.
My ears are still ringing…
As of yet, nobody is sitting in my new TREX(tm) benches. So I am forcing the issue and adding a 4th TREX(tm) bench to the shelter.
