POTD – Japanese Type 26 Revolver
Character flaws. I suffer from them just like the rest of you. And one of my shortcomings is that of degenerate gun-hoarder. And since I can’t buy everything my eye sees, a coping mechanism I employ to manage that logistical inconvenience is to…sometimes…disclose temping finds in the hopes someone else will rescue orphan guns.

That is what is happening here.
Shooters Supply Shop in Loveland, Ohio had a Japanese Type 26 revolver show up in their used case. Think Pre-WWII and WWII Imperial Japan. Records indicate they made just shy of 60,000 units.

These guns served officially in the Russo-Japanese War, Second Sino-Japanese War, WWI & WWII. But examples were later noted in use by the Republic of China and even North Korea (DPRK)!
So what you ask? It’s an old gun. Probably pot metal. Shouldn’t be shot a lot because of metallurgy (I assume) and lack of spare parts. Besides, it’s not like you can get ammo for this thing anyway.

<Does an internet search>
Oh goodness! Old South has some new production ammunition in stock as I type this.
<Starts sweating>
I can’t buy another dead-end MILSURP, right?
<Makes excuses>
I know! I’ll post this on the website as a POTD and let the market solve this problem for me!
So here we are….
Sincerely,
Marky
