Ran across this at Shooter’s Supply in Loveland, Ohio. It’s a quite desirable Smith & Wesson 28-2 Highway Patrolman. But what makes this revolver even more special is it’s condition.
Look at the cylinder: barely a hint of a turn-ring. Look at the front of the barrel, no perceptible holster wear. Pay attention to the finish: It’s so perfect, I actually questioned if it has been refinished. Closer inspection of the markings shows this is NOT the case.
So what we have here folks is a class of gun I reference repeatedly, but rarely see. It’s simply in too good of condition for us. John1911 runs a large reference collection, but that entire collection is “shooter grade”.
We would never, singularly, put money into this just to lose that money by shooting the gun. And if we acquired a gun like this as part of a larger collection, it would immediately be slotted for sale.
So now you know where to find it. Also…it has a S&W marked leather holster for those interested.
Sincerely,
Marky
