We had some professional photos taken of the John1911 reference collection. This was done to so what a non-pristine firearm would look like under such conditions.
My old work gun. Ed Brown Executive Elite. 45 ACP. Blued finish. Real ivory grips. Notice how the finish is worn? It’s been refinished once or twice. I can’t recall.
For you collectors out there, that was done because repairs needed to be made. And to facilitate those repairs, the finish was destroyed.
That’s why we call ‘em working guns, people.
