Freeze picked up a used RIA 1911 just as the COVID-19 thing was beginning to take hold. Being deemed an essential worker, he has been busier than a one-armed paper hanger.
So per his request, I am putting the first shots through his gun.
- Make: RIA
- Model: 1911 of some kind.
- Caliber: 9mm.
- Finish: Parkerized.
- Capacity: Single stack.
- magazines: 3.
- Safety: Ambidextrous.
- Grips: Rubber.
- Front Strap: No checkering.
- Mag-well: None.
- Guide-rod: FLGR.
- Condition: Purchased used.
Thoughts: Seems like a decent gun for the price. The whole gun seems rough. I suspect that is mainly due to the parkerizing not even being worn in.
FLGR sucks. No mag-well sucks. Grips suck. And the magazines are of questionable history and condition.
But…It works. It’s sights are aligned. It shoots true. And every part is probably standard 1911. Which means it has a high fiddle factor. Which Freeze just loves.
Sincerely,
Marky
