I am not saying open emitter red dots are just as good as closed emitter. They are not. And it’s likely in 20 years, no red dots will use the open emitter design.
However…most people these days subscribe to dogma, not practical knowledge.
These pics was taken in absolute pouring rain. The pistol is carried AIWB and was not concealed under a shirt. Does the water affect the shooter’s vision? Sure. Is it unusable? No.
My point is, it’s not all or nothing. Enclosed emitters are better in such environments. But that doesn’t mean open emitter sights are worthless or will get you, “Kilt in da streetz”.
