Two tax stamps later, the PX9 project is complete. The host is a 10.5 inch PSA PX9, 9mm PCC that has an SBR stamp. I just received approval for the Gemtech Lunar 9 suppressor which took 2.5 working days from the date of certification. The Gemtech is modular and can be run short(4 inches) or long(7 inches). My hand guard diameter was about .020 undersized for the can to fit, so some alterations to the hand guard were made. I wound up taking about 1.25 inches in length off of it.
First impressions of the can are good. In long form with spicy 115gr loads, it was slightly louder than a 22lr but without the sharp crack. 147gr subs at approximately 900fps were noticeably quieter. I noticed no gas blowback and recoil was practically zero. The gun is sporting a Sig Romeo optic, Magpul stock and fore grip, Hogue grip, and Streamlight TLR1.
Now it is time for some load development and testing.
