After some years we have sourced a US Army, unmodified, Krag-Jorgensen, Model 1898 rifle. Manufactured in possibly 1899.
The condition of this Krag is outstanding. Especially the barrel. Which was a major concern since we run a shooting, reference collection.
For years these have been sky high, but with the CMP releasing 800 rifles this summer, that has brought down the realized prices on the secondary market.
So right before a road trip to CMP, we took one last look and found this example FOR LESS than what CMP is selling theirs for. Talk about a blessing!
Once we source some ammo, we will get this thing shot.
