There was a time when a Clark Custom Meltdown treatment was the pinnacle for CCW guns. At least in my eyes.
These days manufacturers have figured out how to de-horn 1911s without making them look like bars of soap. When you hear the phrase, “X gun has been tastefully dehorned” or “Tastefully had the sharp edges broken off”, that is an oblique reference to not doing something like this.
Do I still think it’s cool? Hell yes! Would I pay to have a gun melted like this in the 21st Century? Likely not.
Sincerely,
Marky
