I have seen this gun on GunBroker for a few weeks now. No movement which just blows me away. It appears to be a full-house custom by Wilson Combat on a Colt Series 80, 1911 base.
It has Wilson parts, super nice aftermarket finish, and looks to be in near mint condition. Chambered in 45. Single sided safety. Not 100%, but..maybe…the mags that come with it have that fancy finish on them. But that could just be the light in the photographs. Very interesting gun that looks like a full custom job. The dustcover “Wilson Combat” marking suggests that.
And there it sits for $1995.00. That’s crazy!!!
If I was new in the game, and wanted my first “custom 1911”, this would be it! Hands down. You could carry it, keep it mint, plink with it, or shoot it to death and…still get that Wilson Combat warranty.
The only reason I don’t buy it is because I already have my custom 45 1911 and don’t need two.
As for seller, buy with confidence. How do I know that? It’s Ohio Ordnance Works. Who’s that you might ask? They manufacture M2 50BMG machine guns, M240 machine guns, and BARs. Very well known in the industry and not some random, “dude on the internet”.
Critical points on the gun. If I am being picky, there are only two things about this gun I would change. Firstly, I would stick a magwell on it, but the home-gamer can do that himself. And second, I would delete that cheap laser grip thing and put some G10’s on it.
So Merry Christmas to someone because one of Ya’ll better buy this thing. It’s the steal of a lifetime.
Sincerely,
Marky
