Ok. Now we have upgraded the Integra with a Geissele Super 42 H3 buffer. While a little better, it’s still ejecting aggressively. The minimum acceptable angle would be 3 o’clock. Right towards the camera.
So now we are going to look at going to an H4. I don’t even know where I can buy an H4 at. Perhaps we can purchase heavier weights from Geissele and “make” this H3 into a H4?
And this ladies and gentlemen is just another example in my long running series of, “why I buy complete guns”. All this fiddle farting around with buffers is just turning this lower into a dedicated Gemtech Integra receiver anyway. Could have just sold us a complete gun and been done with it.
My policy is I shoot guns. I’ll field fix them if I have to, but I prefer to let actual firearm engineers decide how best to configure them. Dudes who put this gas system together, with their chosen gas-port size, and expansion chamber could have easily figured all this out before hand. Or at the very least provided a spec sheet of how the lower should be configured by the end user.
Not trying to sound negative. I actually like the upper quite a bit. But every minute I spend farting around just trying to get an AR to run, there are literally dozens and dozens of backlogged projects waiting in the armory.
Sincerely,
Marky
