Well…I have been putting this off for far too long. Ever since I switched to the Wilson EDC X9L pistol, with red dot, my regular TSA travel case doesn’t fit the gun. My solution has been to just check a single stack eXperior with irons.
But no more. This time I wanted all the bullets. And the only way to make this work was to disassemble the pistol. Which…sucks. Why?
Well…let me tell you how life behind the TSA counter works. Sometimes they actually do “interface” with your firearm. To my thinking, a disassembled gun is a recipe for disaster. (Also if you look closely, I wasn’t all that hip on the ejector’s location, but I digress).
Luckily all’s well that ends well. The pistol arrived none the worse for wear. But…long term…I need a bigger box. But I don’t seem to be able to find one. Any suggestions? Is there a low-profile case like this only larger?
Final point: Yes, when I travel with just a personal pistol, I use a simple TSA travel case like this. Have done so for 30 years. It’s a handgun. If they want to finger it, let ‘em. Getting called down for every flight, in every airport, and missing airplanes defeats the purpose of buying a ticket.
Besides…if TSA steals my shit, they’ll get a free ride to jail. Just like everybody else has.
Sincerely,
Marky
