INEOS Quartermaster Negatives
While Crown was upgrading some stuff on my Grenadier, they were kind enough to let me borrow a Quartermaster for a few days. Here are my impressions when compared to the SUV, aka “station wagon”.
I will say there is nothing wrong with the Quartermaster. It seems to do just about everything the SUV does. But as a pickup truck, I find it a little too small for my tastes.
However, I do understand that the general form factor of the Quartermaster still needs to land in that trail-friendly size for serious off-road work. And secondly, if you were someone who was going to convert the Grenadier for extended backcountry over landing adventures lasting weeks, the Quartermaster gives you way, way more room for things like fuel, water, bed, life support equipment, etc, etc.
Let me explain. These folks typically enclose the bed, sometimes punch through to the back seat area, and in essence build a mini-rock-crawler-RV.
Bottom line: Yes, it’s a pickup truck. But not in the general American sense like the F-150. It’s more like a base vehicle for 4000 mile treks across Africa or Siberia.
SUV is plenty big for me, and my shooters appreciate the back-seat, leg room more for my use case.
Sincerely,
Marky
