Ok. We picked up a new implement for the John1911 Range tractor. What I call a grading scraper or land leveler. But what Ironcraft calls their Model 3708 Duel Edge Grader Blade.
So what is this thing? It’s kinda like a cross between a baseball field drag and a box blade. Meaning it easily can level messed up, previously graded surfaces like gravel roads or giant pistol pits. But since it has scarifiers, it can be used to rip up ground to cut new roads and paths as needed. It just doesn’t move as much dirt per pass as a box blade.
Why not a box blade or rear blade? One, it’s easier and faster at my skill level to level gravel in emergency. Read fix the pistol pit so people don’t trip. Two, we don’t do snow removal with the John1911 tractor, so the rear blade benefits are lost on us.
The deets: This thing is 8 feet wide. Has 6 shanks. Accepts CAT 1 & 2 tractors and weighs 740lbs.
So yeah. What started off as, “Why don’t we just build a company range, it’ll be easy.” Has turned into, “Welcome to my fleet of earth moving and farm equipment”. I don’t do this because it is easy. I do it because I “thought” it would be easy. (Sic)
Sincerely,
Marky
