SCAR 20S Ready For The Range

The SCAR is now wearing a Vortex Viper PST.  I finally got some suitable rings in.  Living outside of a village with a population of 800 can make it difficult to get more than a tank full of diesel fuel and a Coke in short order.  I field stripped it and completely removed the lube that was on it and replaced it with my lube of choice, Militec-1.

Since it is a 1-10 twist, I am going to start with some factory Hornady 175 grain match ammo.  Older SCARs were 1-12 twist and many had issues with bullets heavier than 150ish grains.  I am an avid reloader so I am also planning to develop some handloads for it.  I have some 168 grain Hornady match bullets along with six hundred 175 grain Sierra Match Kings.  I will keep velocities around 2650 and 2600 FPS respectively as this is the approximate velocities for Federal Gold Medal Match.  Now if the weather will cooperate with my schedule, we will get a chance to shake this rig down.
