To answer a question about managing the safety on a 1911 and appendix carry, it was just easier to film a video.
The long and & short of it is, I always default to placing my thumb under the safety, pushing up on it, unless I am specifically & intentionally going to deactivate it.
The result is the million dollar answer when it comes to pistols and AIWB. When I am admin’ing a 1911, even under duress, it is 100% a dead gun until the very moment I choose to turn that safety off.
If you’ve ever seen a video of me shooting, no matter how fast, this is what’s happening. The gun is dead until I command it not to be. I don’t skip steps and I don’t bypass the safety. I use it.
In the world of pistols with an external safety, nothing to date beats a 1911. Nothing.
Sincerely,
Marky
