The Downside to FN FNC Rifle

After doing some semi-serious shooting with the FNC over the past few weeks, I have come to the conclusion that the factory, fixed stock is simply too long by modern standards.

Now before the internet gets all in a tizzy, hear me out. I am not saying the design is “wrong”. It works. And works well. As a target stock, shooting off a bench or bladed to shoot across the course at Camp Perry.

It’s really no different than the stock found on the current M16A4. Something optimized to win target matches, not fight from zero to 300 meters. Especially around structures and obstacles. Toss in variables like body armor or tactical vests, and the retard level gets turned up to 11.

But…you have to keep in mind this gun is from a different time, and target shooting was a standard most organizations leaned heavily on back then.

So now the question for me is do I change it? Can I change it? Can I change it temporarily with the ability to change it back to factory before returning it to The Armory.

Dunno. Stay tuned.

Sincerely,

Marky
