Yeah, we’ve been playing with one of these for a little over a month. But I have somehow neglected to make any reference to it on the website.
Probably because we aren’t, “gear reviewers”.
So far my thoughts are 50/50. It works as advertised. But isn’t nearly as secure as a dedicated mag carrier that you see in many AIWB setups these days.
What I mean is if you are more than moderately active? There is a greater than uncommon chance you’ll find the mag twisted in the mount or at the bottom of your pocket.
For those wondering? I’m very active.
Additionally, should you need to reach down into the pocket past the mount? Depending on the cut of your pants? You might find sliding the top of you hand past a 1970’s era can-opener to be a huge negative. Doubly so if you are doing this in earnest for a reload that fell out of the NEOMAG.
Look. It’s a good product. It does work. Actually it’s genius in some ways. I’ve worn it every day, all day, for probably a month. It removes the candy bar at the bottom of your pocket lump. So that’s good.
But I think this is more a situational than daily thing. I.E. You are dressed up for a function in nice pants and don’t need the candy bar look. Like…maybe a wedding or a nice dinner?
For this it works well. But any situation that looks like a scrum or big tussle? 50/50 chance your mag won’t be where you want it. And working past the NEOMAG to get to it usually sucks.
So right now my position: agnostic. Need more time to make up my mind.
Sincerely,
Marky
