I was recently sent this photo since we posted about pig hunting in Texas. I don’t recall where the sender said it happened, but this is what the tusk of a wild pig can do to a human.
To my thinking, the most dangerous thing that can happen in pig hunting is injuring an animal and having to go after it. Pigs are notorious, no actually guaranteed, to run a short distance turn around 180 degrees and wait in ambush.
For this reason, it is advised that pig hunters always carry powerful sidearms in the advent of violent, close contact.
