Belgian FN-49 Rifle
We picked this rifle up on a whim. Literally ran across is doing something else. I “might” have looked it over for 1 minute before agreeing to purchase. The biggest factors pushing me over the edge were nice condition and it being chambered in 7mm Mauser.
Frankly the high-gloss, mention of a firing pin upgrade and no stamps or proofs on the stock lead me to assume it was someone’s project gun.
And while it wasn’t a steal, the wasn’t priced as an original MILSURP collectable either. Translation: Shooter grade, good condition and my preferred caliber. Snapped it up.
But once I got it back to The Armory and had a few minutes to actually look at it, I am starting to suspect it might not be as fluffed as originally thought. Can’t explain the condition of the stock, but the painted finished might be original.
Strange.
How does that happen? Did FN make these with a hi-gloss finish? I highly doubt it. But here we are. I have zero doubt that once this video hits the internet, all my questions will be answered by FN guys immediately.
OH…and by the way, we are hiring a property manager and ground crew for the range.
Sincerely,
Marky
