New Wood Target Backers
Things have been nuts this spring. But one thing we have decided to FINALLY do is swap out the coraform target backs for real wood.
As I have alluded to on pod, coraform is the same material all those political signs are made of. In short…plastic. I got the idea to us it from one of the local gun clubs I used to shoot at.
But here’s the problem. When you shoot them they kick off minuscule amounts of plastic. Plastic the doesn’t degrade for thousands of years. If ever.
The final straw came when a combination of sun exposure and thunderstorms completely blew them apart as if it was hit by a bomb. I was cleaning up little pieces of plastic for freaking months.
So now…it’s all wood, all the time. Hold up better to sun. Is stronger than coraform in the wind and it’s both biodegrade-able and disposable in the burn barrels.
Point of clarification. I didn’t buy this wood. It was left over from the Amish building the range barn. Been sitting around for over a year so target backers it is.
Sincerely,
Marky
