So…while at the NRA show, we did stop by the Staccato booth. One of the SWAT guys I was with says these markings on this XC are fantasy. He indicated USMS SOG adopted a different model. Is he right? Is he wrong?
Do I care? No. But…I’m showing this gun to prove a point. In the future, when the Staccato collectors are fighting over real, surplus USMS pistols; will this photo be offered up as proof of something that didn’t exist?
While not a big deal now, in the future it could very easily turn into a situation where collectors are whacking each other over provenance and authenticity of something. Read that as assigning monetary value, while using this very photo to argue the exact opposite of what I am representing here.
Ya’ll need to be very, very careful with collectables. Especially firearm variant collectables.
It’s why John1911 doesn’t purchase or invest in high-end, firearm variants. Too much skulduggery and ill intentions. Reminds me of the Ferrari aftermarket.
Sincerely,
Marky
