Your First Grenadier Annual Service
Ok. So here we go, Grenadier Internet. The first annual / 12,000 service on our 2025 Grenadier wagon. Full disclosure, we drive a lot. I think we hit the mileage in about 5 months, which isn’t typical for most owners watching this video.
A few data points to head off the expected questions at the pass:
- We elected to have INEOS do a “break-in” oil change for us at about the 2400 mile mark. At our cost.
- We are just using whatever synthetic oil the manufacturer recommends.
- I plan on following the manufacturer’s oil change schedule of every 12,000 miles from here on out. This is for 2 reasons. Firstly, 12,000 mile oil changes are super convenient for us. And second, that still gets us in twice a year.
- Service life plans for our Grenadier: We use this as a work / range truck and daily driver. My plan is for the B58 engine to last a maximum of 200,000 miles. Once that number is hit, we will dump it.
- At that point, we will either be tired of Grenadiers and want something else or INEOS will have a new / different engine option and that would probably be more desirable. So planned obsolescence.
- Summary – We are NOT trying to make this vehicle last forever. It will not go 1 million miles like our Toyotas. This Grenadier is being used off-road as it was designed. And when it’s no longer “fit for purpose” and used up, we will discard it.
- If this use case isn’t “you”, don’t get too wrapped around the axle about what we are doing and how we are doing it. It’s just the internet. Go outside and touch some grass.
Sincerely,
Marky
