That New Gun Range Smell: Colt SP1

Freeze and I are setting up some new ranges for different projects. This was a test on one of our private access roads that also happens to have natural backstops from 50-200 yards.

We need to do this to keep ancillary noise down when shooting drills on video. More to come.

Rifle used: Colt SP1.

Watching you present that rifle for the camera gave me the idea that if this whole thing with guns and tee-shirts doesn’t pan out for you, then you may have a future with the QVC, or what ever that channel was on TV that had folks turning and showing the item for sale in as many angles as was possible in the short amount of time they were given. It was just a passing thought… but it made me chuckle! I have not given up on the desire of getting out to your part of the country too shoot with you guys one day, but I will make it happen!

    • You know the most important part of QVC and HSN?

      Somebody made a billion dollars.

True. And sadly important is that it was not me.

        • Well…hope springs eternal. More technology disruptions are coming. Huge. Lots of regular businesses will fall. But new more agile businesses will make billions.

    • Hi, John! Hope you are well. It’s amazing to think you have photos of yourself at the evacuation.

Do you think back on it like you were there or does it seem like an out of body experience?

Oh, it’s definitely out of body, crazy time! Who pulls out a briefcase and opens it in front of you and says take what you want, to let us get out, a case filled with diamonds, gold bars and cash. Rocketed one day, bombed by A-37s the next, followed by NVA artillery and seeing a C-119 Puff gunship shot down, it was a bit much to take in at age 18. I keep a pistol and or an AR and a good flashlight near where I sleep or sit, ever since. Having both sides shoot at you is a bit disconcerting as well.

        • I must not know as much as I thought I did. Are you saying you were in the receiving end if “friendly fire” or was the South Vietnamese Military intentionally shooting at you as well?
